We designed this unit to run on standard voltage circuits. That means it pulls less current, so you don’t have to rewire the whole basement. The length is intentionally chosen for wall mounting, so the radiant heat spreads wide and even. And because infrared warms people and objects directly—not just the air—you feel the heat right away. What’s Inside: Quartz, Halogen, and a Smart Connection
Inside the tube, we use a quartz envelope filled with halogen gas. That combo lets the element run hot and produce short-wave infrared. It penetrates and warms solid objects directly. Quartz also handles thermal shock better than glass, so rapid on-off cycling won’t crack the tube. For the connector, we went with an R7s double-ended, straight-pin base. It’s a straightforward, drop-in setup. Tough, easy to wire, and it stays stable even with some vibration.
